About Mehndikrit

For five thousand years, mehndi has marked what India holds sacred. Every wedding, every festival, every moment worth celebrating carried its trace. But it always lived on skin. And within days, it was always gone.

Nobody had thought to change that. Until one artist did.

It began with a candle. A single experiment: mehndi drawn not on a palm but on wax, then lit. The flame held. The design held. And word of it travelled far beyond Surat, beyond Gujarat, beyond India. The world took notice.

That first experiment opened a door. If mehndi could live on a candle, what else could it hold? Canvas came next, then murals across entire walls. Surfaces that had never known henna began to carry it. Bookmarks, wood panels, fabric. Each one hand-drawn with the same cone, the same stillness, the same art that had lived on skin for fifty centuries.

Then came the Ramayan. Fifty-one episodes from the journey of Shri Ram, drawn entirely in mehndi on paper. Recognised by the Asia Book of Records as the first work of its kind. A book that proved mehndi could do more than decorate. It could tell the oldest stories we have and hold them.

From that moment, a new offering was born. Not just to preserve the art, but to carry it to the world. To reach and inspire. To place mehndi where it has never been placed before, and let it stay.
